Artist's Description
This is a panorama that was taken from the wooden walking bridge at the Square Ledge Trail Head. This is a hiking trail at the Pinkham Notch Visitor's Center in Jackson, New Hampshire.
The mountains in the background of this image are part of the presidential mountain range with the largest of these being Mount Washington. Mt. Washington is known to have some of the worst weather in the world. It held the record for highest recorded wind speed for 62 years at 231MPH! The weather was beautiful on this day though.
This shot shows Tuckerman's Ravine which is a famous spot for hiking and skiing. New England is well known for its winters but to me, it is the beautiful summers and lush nature that make it so special.
About Mike Whalen

I am a nerd and an artist living in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. I grew up in beautiful New England but traded the white snow for the white sands about 10 years ago. I have always had a passion for photographic art and got my first professional camera just over 4 years ago. I enjoy shooting just about anything but my passion is around landscape photography and artistic compositions. Anything that gets me outside to experience and capture this wonderful earth or provides an opportunity to display an object or scene in a different view.
